New cat checklist: How to prepare for a new cat or kitten

You will need:

Separate food and water bowls. Keep them away from each other, cats don’t like to eat and drink in the same spot.

A comfortable bed (soft and warm) that’s set in a place the cat would consider safe.

An uncovered litter tray, kept away from the food and water bowls, and away from the cat’s bed.

Ar least one scratching post, unless you want your cat to use some piece of furniture.

A brush, especially for long haired cats.

Different types of toys — keeping your cat occupied will cut down on the mischief.

A cat carrier won’t be needed too often, but is still essential.
